Universal coverage.Proven kit.

The UK's biggest fibre network. Available almost everywhere. Sold by us.

Openreach is the BT-owned wholesale network that reaches around 28 million UK premises on FTTC and roughly 14 million on FTTP. We deliver it as business broadband wherever altnets haven't reached, with our SLA on top and a single point of contact. FTTP tiers run up to 1.8 Gbps download (asymmetric); FTTC fills the gaps where full fibre hasn't arrived yet. Need a dedicated single-tenant circuit with a 99.99% SLA? See leased lines.

  • FTTC where fibre hasn't reached
  • Static IP / /29 IPv4
  • Dual-stack v4 + v6

UK premises on Openreach FTTP — and climbing fast.

Plus roughly 28 million on FTTC. If a fibre network reaches your address in the UK, the odds are heavily on Openreach being one of them.

01Why Openreach

Four reasons it's still the default pick.

Openreach isn't flashy. It's the network everyone else compares themselves to. Built over decades, supported by the largest engineer estate in the country, and available at almost every UK address — that combination is hard to beat.

Universal UK coverage

Around 28 million premises on FTTC and roughly 14 million on FTTP — the widest fibre and copper-fibre footprint in the country. If altnets haven't reached you, Openreach almost certainly has.

Mature SLA + engineer estate

Openreach's field engineering operation is the biggest in the UK. Faults route through a well-rehearsed process, parts are stocked locally, and lead times for visits are predictable.

Proven kit, proven backhaul

FTTP runs over GPON to a Huawei or Nokia ONT on your wall; FTTC over VDSL2 from the local cab. Both technologies are mature, well-understood, and supported across virtually every router on the market.

Install slots actually exist

Openreach engineer availability is the deepest in the UK. AM or PM half-day slots are usually bookable inside 10–15 working days for FTTP, faster for FTTC reconfigurations.

Coverage — UK-wide

Almost everywhere —
just check the postcode.

FTTP is now live at around 14 million UK premises and the rollout adds more every week. Where FTTP hasn't reached, FTTC over the local cabinet keeps things moving. Coverage is checked live at the address, so we don't publish a town list that goes stale — drop in a postcode and we'll tell you whether it's FTTP, FTTC, what top speed your line qualifies for, and the realistic install date.

If an altnet (CityFibre, Netomnia, FreedomFibre, LCR Connect) is also live at your address we'll quote both and let you pick on price, speed profile, or upload need.

02Common deployments

Who picks Openreach over an altnet.

Multi-site businesses

Five branches, twenty branches, fifty branches — Openreach is the only network that's at every one of them. One ISP, one SLA, one bill across the entire estate.

Offices outside altnet towns

Rural HQs, small market towns, industrial estates the altnets skipped. FTTP is rolling out fast, FTTC fills the gap until it arrives, and the upgrade path stays inside the same provider.

Resilience pairs

Primary on Openreach, secondary on an altnet (or vice versa). Diverse last-mile means a single fibre cut doesn't take you down. We can quote both sides as one package.

10–15

Working days to install FTTP at a stock postcode.

FTTC reconfigurations on a working line are faster, often 5–10 working days. Engineer slots are AM or PM half-days.

03FAQ

Real questions, honest answers.

Openreach is the BT-owned wholesale network that runs the UK's largest fibre and copper infrastructure. It doesn't sell to end customers — ISPs like Giant buy access wholesale and resell it as a retail service. Around 28 million UK premises are on Openreach FTTC, and roughly 14 million now have FTTP.

The default network, delivered properly.

Run a postcode check — we'll confirm Openreach FTTP or FTTC availability, quote the right tier, and schedule install. If an altnet is faster at your address, we'll mention that too.
