Will my phoneactually work?

Live Ofcom data, four networks, one search.

Drop in any UK postcode — we'll pull live mobile coverage straight from Ofcom and show you Giant Mobile alongside EE, Vodafone, Three + O2 side-by-side. Indoor + outdoor voice + data. The same numbers every operator uses, presented as a real comparison instead of flipping between five separate checkers. If signal's patchy, pair a Giant SIM with our full fibre broadband so WiFi calling fills the gaps indoors — or activate an eSIM in 90 seconds to try a different carrier before you commit.

02How to read it

Four things worth knowing.

Coverage maps look more confident than they actually are. Here's what the numbers mean — and what they don't.

Indoor vs outdoor

Signal weakens through walls — a postcode rated 'good outdoor' may only be 'variable indoor'. Look at the row that matches where you actually use your phone.

Voice vs data

VoLTE (voice over 4G) is replacing 3G calls — voice now follows data coverage closely. If data is patchy, expect call quality + ring time to suffer with it. 2G/3G are being switched off network-by-network through 2030.

Buildings + topography

The Ofcom model accounts for masts + average buildings — it doesn't know about your specific block, basement, or hill behind the house. Real-world results vary.

Why this matters for VoLTE

Calls on 4G (VoLTE) sound HD-clear and connect instantly compared to 3G fallback. If 4G voice is patchy, expect call quality + ring time to suffer.

If coverage is patchy

WiFi calling
fills the gaps.

Got our broadband already? Pair it with a Giant Mobile SIM and the phone uses your home WiFi when the mast signal's weak — same number, same dial, calls in HD over the internet. Works at home, at the office, anywhere we've put fibre.

03FAQ

Real questions, honest answers.

Ofcom's industry-wide mobile coverage data — the same authoritative dataset that feeds Ofcom's own checker and most network sites. What's different here is we show all four operators side-by-side instead of making you flip between four checkers. We update it whenever Ofcom publishes a new release.
