Guardian.One tap. Every device.
Network-level content filtering — malicious sites blocked automatically, adult content blocked when you want it. No downloads, no per-device setup.
Included free with every Giant Broadband plan and every leased line — residential and business. Works across every phone, laptop, smart TV, games console and IoT device on your Wi-Fi.
Zero speed impact · No data caps · Reversible any time
One switch. Every device.
Guardian filters at Giant's network level — before traffic ever reaches your router. That's why it works on kit that can't have software installed (smart TVs, doorbells, printers, consoles) and covers guest devices the moment they join.
Runs on our network, not your router
Guardian filters at Giant's network level — before traffic ever reaches your router. So it works even on kit that can't have security software installed: smart TVs, consoles, IoT cameras, guest devices.
Protects every device on your Wi-Fi
One switch, every device covered. Phones, laptops, tablets, TVs, consoles, doorbells, thermostats, printers — including devices you're not even aware are connected.
Zero speed impact
No throttling, no data caps, no measurable latency added to your connection. Guardian sits inside the DNS resolution step your line already makes — same round-trip.
Change it in seconds
One tap in portal.giant.net.uk. Change levels, turn it off completely, turn it back on — takes effect across your network within seconds. Fully reversible any time.
added latency. No throttling. No data caps.
Guardian sits inside the DNS resolution step your line already makes — same round-trip, just checked against Giant's threat lists. Multi-gig lines still hit their full sync speed.
Pick your level.
Guardian ships with three clear options. Off is for network engineers doing their own thing. Standard is what we recommend for every household. Family adds adult-content filtering for homes with children.
Guardian Off
Standard internet with nothing filtered by Giant. For customers who already run their own DNS filtering or a home firewall.
- Nothing — you pass all traffic through untouched.
You already run PiHole, NextDNS, Cloudflare Gateway, a UniFi network with IDS, or similar.
Guardian Standard
Automatically blocks websites known to spread malware, phishing scams and credential theft. Recommended for every household.
- Known malware distribution sites
- Phishing pages spoofing banks, retailers, government
- Credential-harvesting sites
- Newly-registered domains commonly used for scams
Every household. Blocks the threats every visitor benefits from stopping — no tradeoffs, no false positives on legitimate sites.
Guardian Family
Everything Standard blocks, PLUS adult content. Designed for households with children.
- Everything in Standard (malware, phishing, credential theft)
- Adult content across the major categories
- Bypass services commonly used to route around content filters
Households with children. Note: no network filter is 100% effective — treat Guardian Family as a strong baseline, not a substitute for supervision.
No network filter is 100% effective. Determined bypass attempts (VPNs, third-party DNS-over-HTTPS, proxy sites) can route around Guardian; new dodgy sites appear faster than any block-list can catch them all. Guardian Family is a strong baseline for accidental exposure, not a substitute for talking to your kids about what they see online.
The threats Guardian handles for you.
Six categories on Guardian Standard — the always-on protection layer every household gets. Two more on Guardian Family, if you turn it on. Every category updated continuously from Giant’s own network-level threat data, not a generic global list.
Malware & ransomware sites
Sites known to distribute malware, cryptolockers, and ransomware payloads — blocked at the DNS step before your device ever connects. Covers drive-by downloads from dodgy Facebook Marketplace links, WhatsApp forwards, ad-tech chains, everything.
The payload never reaches the machine. Your laptop, your kids' tablet, your smart TV — all covered by the same block, even if the device has no antivirus on it.
Phishing scams (UK-specific)
Fake HMRC 'tax rebate' pages. Fake Royal Mail 're-delivery' portals. Spoof DVLA fine pages. Spoof Amazon and PayPal logins. The UK's most-clicked scam categories, updated as we see new campaigns hitting the network.
Giant sees this traffic on our own network as it lands — often within hours of a new phishing wave launching. UK-current threat feeds catch UK-specific scams a global blocklist would miss.
Credential theft & fake logins
Fake Microsoft 365, fake Google, fake NHS, fake bank sign-in pages designed to harvest usernames and passwords — and the newly-registered look-alike domains (giant.co.uk.secure-login-check.xyz style) that phishing operators use for a few days before Google catches up.
One bad password submission on a spoofed page can bankrupt a family. Guardian blocks the domain before the sign-in screen even loads.
Delivery & parcel scams
'Your parcel needs a re-delivery fee' texts, 'your package is on hold' emails, DPD / Evri / Royal Mail impersonators. One of the most-clicked scam categories in the UK — and one Giant blocks at the network before a card number can be typed.
The SMS still lands, but the destination it points at is blocked — even if a family member clicks it before they've had their coffee.
Bank & financial impersonators
Sites spoofing the big UK high-street banks, building societies, and challenger banks — plus the fake 'investment platforms' and crypto rug-pulls that lure retirees out of their savings.
This is the category with the highest average loss per victim in UK fraud stats. Blocking at the network is the single cheapest intervention we can offer.
Newly-registered suspicious domains
Domains registered in the last few days that match known scam-domain patterns get quarantined even if we haven't seen a specific attack from them yet. Most scam infrastructure is under a week old — this is where the coverage gap on generic blocklists lives.
Catches novel campaigns Google Safe Browsing and Microsoft Defender haven't classified yet. Belt-and-braces on top of the browser's own protections.
Adult content
Optional. When Guardian Family is on, the major adult content categories are blocked across every device on the Wi-Fi — smart TVs, tablets that get handed down to kids, second-hand phones, guest devices. Not just the browser you configured.
Every-device coverage is the point. Kids don't only browse on the family laptop with parental controls installed; they browse on the console, the smart TV, the tablet that used to be an adult's. Guardian Family covers the lot.
Online gambling
Optional. When Guardian Family is on, online gambling sites — sportsbooks, online casinos, in-app gambling — are blocked household-wide. For households with someone in recovery, or homes where children might stumble across gambling ads pointing at real gambling sites.
Gambling addiction relapse is often one click away. A household-wide block removes the click. Nothing ideological — a tool for people who've asked for it.
Giant is a UK ISP. Phishing waves aimed at UK customers, fake HMRC pages, Royal Mail scams, spoof high-street banks — that traffic hits our network as it hits yours, so we see and shut down UK-specific attacks that a generic global blocklist wouldn’t catch for hours. Threat data updates continuously, applied to every plan on the network, at no extra cost. This is one of the very few things we do include free — because protecting the households on our line is part of being your provider, not a paid extra.
The stuff you forgot about.
The reason Guardian works at the network level is that half the devices in a modern home can't have security software installed. Guardian doesn't care — it filters before traffic ever reaches them.
