Horizon.Better broadband, the moment it’s available.
You never have to check whether your address can get something better again. We do it for you.
Horizon watches your service address for network upgrades — full fibre replacing copper, symmetric upload speeds, faster multi-gig tiers, brand-new networks — and tells you when one arrives. Notify-only. You always choose whether to upgrade. Included free with every Giant Broadband connection — and bundled by default on every copper plan we sell, because that’s the customer who most needs to know the day full fibre finally reaches them.
Zero setup · Zero cost · You always decide
Watches quietly. Speaks up when it matters.
Horizon runs entirely from the service information Giant already holds — no software to install, no settings to configure, no dashboards to babysit. It becomes active the day your line goes live and stays active for the life of the service.
Runs quietly in the background
Nothing to install, nothing to configure. Horizon works from your service address on file — the moment you become a Giant customer, it starts watching.
Only surfaces meaningful upgrades
We only notify you when there's a genuine improvement worth knowing about. If your current service is already the best fit for your postcode, you hear nothing — no noise for the sake of it.
You decide — no auto-migration
When something new is available, we tell you. You choose whether to upgrade, when, and to which package. Nothing changes on your line without you actively saying yes.
You get told. You never get moved.
Horizon is notify-only. Nothing changes on your line until you actively say yes — consistent with our long-standing no-auto-migration policy on copper-to-fibre upgrades.
The reason Horizon exists: copper customers.
Every SoGEA and FTTC customer on Giant is enrolled in Horizon by default. Full fibre is rolling out across the UK street-by-street; the day it reaches yours, you should hear about it from us — not stumble on it six months later during a contract-end trawl through comparison sites.
Watches for the FTTP truck
The moment an FTTP or full-fibre alt-net passes your address, Horizon flags it. Openreach FTTP, CityFibre, Netomnia, Freedom Fibre, LCR Connect, Trooli, OFNL, Community Fibre — all in scope.
Notify-only, always
We’ll never auto-migrate you off copper. Some providers do that ahead of the 2027 PSTN switch-off. Giant tells you what’s available; you decide the timing — including staying on copper right up to the switch-off date if you want to.
Ahead of the switch-off
PSTN 2027 makes copper voice services obsolete on 31 Jan 2027. Horizon gives copper customers years of runway to move to fibre on their own terms — not to a deadline set by their provider. See PSTN 2027.
Six kinds of upgrade, one watchful eye.
Horizon only notifies you when there's a genuine improvement worth knowing about. If your line's already the best fit for your address, you hear nothing — no noise for the sake of it.
Full fibre where you had copper
The moment an FTTP or full-fibre network passes your address, Horizon flags the switch — no more waiting for the fibre roll-out map to update six months later.
Symmetric upload speeds
If a symmetric-capable network (XGS-PON, LCR Connect, Netomnia) arrives at your address, Horizon spots the upload-speed jump — the bit that matters for backups, video calls, streaming and self-hosted stuff.
Higher-speed tiers on your existing line
When your current network's operator opens a higher tier — 2 Gbps, 5 Gbps, 8 Gbps — Horizon notices and lets you know it's now orderable.
Brand-new networks reaching you
New alt-nets (CityFibre, Freedom Fibre, Trooli, OFNL, Community Fibre, LCR Connect) light up new streets constantly. Horizon watches for the day yours joins the map.
Better-value packages worth switching to
If a genuinely better-value package appears for what you already need — same speed, less money, or more speed, same money — Horizon flags it as an option.
Future technologies as they land
As new access technologies become available at your address — whatever the industry ships next — Horizon watches for them so you don't have to keep an eye on trade press.
Most providers only tell you at contract-end. We tell you when it happens.
The industry default is silence — you find out about faster fibre yourself, usually on a comparison site months after your neighbours have already switched. Horizon flips that. We watch, you decide.
Horizon can only surface upgrades on networks Giant is wholesale-partnered with. When a network we don’t sell reaches your address, we won’t hide it from you, but we can’t order it either. Currently we deliver across Openreach, Netomnia, CityFibre, LCR Connect, Trooli, OFNL, Community Fibre and Freedom Fibre — a broader set than most, and growing.
Nothing to install. Nothing to configure.
Horizon is a feature of being a Giant customer — not a product you activate. It starts the day your line goes live, runs for the life of the service, and never asks you to do anything unless there's actually an upgrade worth doing.
You’ll hear from us by email
When Horizon detects a meaningful upgrade at your address, we email the account holder with the details and a link to view it in portal.giant.net.uk.
Address-based, not sales-driven
Horizon checks the connectivity available at YOUR address, not what our sales team wants to push this quarter. If your line is already the best option, you get nothing.
Free, forever, on every plan
No premium tier, no paid-for version, no time-limited trial. Horizon runs on every Giant Broadband and leased-line service, for the life of the service.
Horizon, answered honestly.
Get on Giant. Get Horizon.
Horizon starts watching for upgrades the moment your line goes live. Drop your postcode to see what’s already available.
