Help · Number porting

Keep yournumber.

Mobile: next working day. VoIP: pick your own date. Zero downtime either way.

Whatever number you've got — mobile, landline, 0330, 0800 — bring it across when you switch. Free for mobile (Ofcom One Touch Switch); £12 ex VAT per number for VoIP / landline / 0330 / 0800. VoIP porting is fully self-service via portal.giant.net.uk: enter the number, pick your cutover date in the calendar, get automated status updates at every stage — no phone calls, no LoA paperwork, no chasing for progress. Porting a landline lands on our digital home phone product; the broadband side of the move is handled separately by One Touch Switch, which we kick off automatically at order.

Mobile ports run free via Ofcom's One Touch Switch — we cover the (typically zero) gaining-carrier fee. VoIP / landline / 0330 / 0800 ports carry a £12 ex VAT submission fee per number.

01Two flows

Mobile and landline work differently.

Mobile uses Ofcom's One Touch Switch — fast, simple, you text PAC and we do the rest. Landline / VoIP follows the older multi-day Openreach gaining-line process.

02Porting out

Leaving us? No friction.

Ofcom rules: we can't make leaving harder than joining. Get a PAC (mobile) or STAC (mobile, no port) from us free, any time. Same flow in reverse for landlines.

Mobile PAC

Text PAC to 65075 from your Giant number — code arrives in seconds, free, valid 30 days. Hand it to your new carrier.

Mobile STAC

Text STAC to 75075 if you want to leave but not port the number (i.e. just terminate). Same instant flow.

Landline port-out

Your new carrier submits the port; we approve within 24h. Standard 8–12 day Ofcom timeline applies.

03FAQ

Real questions, honest answers.

Yes — and most carriers don't let you. Inside portal.giant.net.uk → Number porting, the calendar lets you pick any working day from the earliest available slot onwards. Common reasons people delay: contract end with the losing carrier, end of month for clean billing, after a planned office move, after a bank-holiday weekend. Once the date's set, the port runs overnight on that date automatically.

We do the breaking up. You keep the number.

Start a port at order time, or any time after. Single number or bulk estate — same process, same team.
