01The numbers

What you're paying now vs. what you'd pay.

02Three reasons people leave TalkTalk

What customers tell us when they jump.

Not punching down — these are documented practices, on TalkTalk's own published terms. We just don't do them.

01

Persistent customer-service complaints

TalkTalk regularly ranks bottom on Which? broadband customer-service surveys. Long hold times, offshore support, repeated visits to fix simple line faults. Giant's UK team picks up in three rings. Press 9 to skip menus.

02

CPI+3.7% annual rises

TalkTalk bumps your monthly bill every April — typically £2–3/mo extra a year. Adds up over a long tenure.

03

Throttling + traffic management

TalkTalk has a history of network management on peer-to-peer + heavy traffic. Giant doesn't apply QoS or throttling. Patch nights, Warzone updates, Skyrim mod packs — all fly at line rate.

30-day notice on any change

Mid-contract changes come with a penalty-free exit window in writing.

Same-day cutover

New line up, old line down, the same minute. No overlap, no gap.

No CPI / RPI clauses

Pricing changes are notified individually, not baked in as an annual auto-increase.

One Touch Switch

We do the
breaking up.

Switching providers used to mean four phone calls and a row about cancellation fees. Not anymore. We tell your old supplier to do one — you don't even pick up the phone.

Pick a plan

Mandated by Ofcom since 12 Sep 2024 — but we still do it properly.

Step 015s

Pick your plan

Postcode → package → done. Takes about 5 seconds.

Step 020 calls

We deal with your old lot

BT, Sky, Virgin, TalkTalk, whoever. We send the cancellation code. You don't lift a finger.

Step 03~10 days

Seamless cutover

On switch day (~10 working days out) the new line lights up and the old one drops the same moment — no overlap, no double bills, no service gap.

The actual days

Order today. On Giant within two weeks.

Typical residential switch · Ofcom-mandated 10-day window
  1. Today

    You hit Order

Postcode confirmed. Plan picked. Engineer slot booked. Old provider notified — overnight.

  2. Day 5

    Letter goes out

Your old provider gets a regulator-mandated heads-up. They have 10 days to do nothing about it.

  3. Day 10

    Switch day

Engineer arrives. New line live. Old line drops the moment Giant lights up — no overlap, no gap.

  4. Day 14

    Done

Old provider's final bill closes. You're fully on Giant. Refund of overpaid days lands in 30.

Mid-contract elsewhere?

We'll wait for you.

Drop your postcode + the month your current contract ends and we'll ping you ~30 days before — exactly when penalty-free switching opens.

What you might still owe TalkTalk.

One Touch Switch handles the move — it doesn't waive your existing contract. Here's the truth about leaving TalkTalk mid-term, so there are no surprises.

Mid-contract with TalkTalk? Here's the deal.

TalkTalk uses Ofcom One Touch Switch. ETF applies on remaining contract months — typically lower than BT/Sky/Virgin per month, but check your TalkTalk account for the exact amount.

  • We complete the switch regardless. The ETF (if any) is your settlement with TalkTalk, not us.
  • Months from contract end? Use our contract-end reminder — we'll ping you ~30 days before, exactly when penalty-free switching opens.
  • Already out of contract? Switch is instant — no ETF possible.
Worth a check first

Check your end date.

TalkTalk's online account shows your contract end date. If you're inside the final 30 days, you can exit free. If you're months away, the ETF rolls down each month you stay — sometimes worth waiting, sometimes not.
