Draw the whole tree. Not a summary.

A drag-and-drop canvas that draws your call routing — every step of it — then lets you change it, walk a call through it, and find the places calls go nowhere.

Lives inside the VoiceCloud portal that ships with every VoIP tier. No extra charge, no add-on, no separate app. Sign in, open a number, hit Call flow.

01The canvas

Every step, every time it appears.

A menu with ten extensions behind it shows the menu AND the ten extensions. Not one collapsed pill. Not a summary. The actual tree, drawn the way a caller actually walks it.

Draws the whole tree, not a summary

Every step, every time it appears. A number with a menu behind it shows the menu, the extensions on each key, the queues those roll into, the announcements those play. Not one label saying "menu" — the actual tree.

Fullscreen dot-grid canvas

Horizontal by default, vertical on a toggle. Small trees auto-centre and auto-scale; large ones stream in as chunks so the browser stays responsive while it paints.

Call-end markers

Any branch that stops gets a pulsing salmon terminal circle. Voicemail counts as an ending, so a flow never trails off without saying so.

Zoom, pan, minimap, focus

Zoom in, out, fit, or drag a box around an area. A minimap for orientation, a breadcrumb trail for zeroing in on one branch.

Curved links with live motion

Soft connectors with travelling pulses. Arrows walk the path during a call walk-through so you can see exactly which leg is being followed.

02Building

Drag a widget. Drop it on the flow.

A library rail lists everything the account can route to, grouped by type and searchable. Drag it onto the canvas, or press the plus on any card edge to stack a step.

Shared objects, honestly labelled

Menus, queues, ring groups, extensions — used as they exist. Drop one in and its sub-tree comes with it, with a pill counting the other routes that also use it. Make a copy clones it cleanly when you want to diverge.

Create without leaving

Extensions, queues, menus, ring groups, conditions, media, custom destinations — all creatable in an embedded drawer. The new object drops straight into the flow.

Edge ports and ghosts

Plus circles sit on the card edges rather than floating loose. Empty branches show a ghost card, so there's always something to aim at.

Subtrees move together

Reorder a card in the middle of a branch and its children come with it. No dragging every step one at a time.

Undo, redo, delete

Full history with keyboard shortcuts. Escape backs out of whatever's open. Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y / Del.

03Understanding

Three ways to see what a caller gets.

Drawing the flow is half of it. The rest is answering the question customers actually phone in with: what happens when someone rings this number?

Walk a call

Step the path as a caller experiences it. Every choice becomes a button generated from your own flow — menu keys, the queue exit key, both condition outcomes. Arrows animate along the leg being walked.

Automatic fault detection

Five kinds, flagged on the canvas and counted on the flow list: unrouted branches, menus with no timeout route, steps unreachable after a call has ended, announcements that fall off the end, and loops back to an earlier step.

Flow analyser

Reviews each finding with you one at a time. You either accept it (remembered per flow) or apply a suggested fix — repeat the menu, send to a specific voicemail box, try the other group, remove the unreachable step.

Live status on the cards

Background pass fills in extension presence and voicemail unread counts, refreshed each minute. A card shows whether that phone is actually online right now.

Hear the announcements

Any announcement plays on click, straight from the card or from the library. No need to hunt through the media list.

04Fault detection

Five faults, flagged on sight.

Every flow gets scanned automatically. Findings are counted on the flow list and pinned on the canvas next to the card causing them — so a broken IVR announces itself before the next customer complaint does.

Fault 01

Unrouted branches

A branch ends at nothing rather than a real destination.

Fault 02

Menu with no timeout route

Caller presses nothing — currently the call would drop.

Fault 03

Unreachable steps

Cards sitting after a call end, that no path ever reaches.

Fault 04

Announcement falls off

A message plays then hits nothing — dead-air followed by hang-up.

Fault 05

Loops to an earlier step

Path folds back on itself. Caller ends up in the same place twice.

Findings you accept are remembered per flow, so re-scans don't re-nag you about a branch you've deliberately left unrouted.

05Safety

Hard to break by accident.

A customer exploring their own routing shouldn't be able to change it just by clicking around. Nothing about this canvas overrides that.

Locked by default

The canvas opens read-only. Editing is a deliberate press, so a customer exploring their routing can't nudge it by accident.

Unsaved-changes guard

Closing, going back, or leaving the page all warn first. Nothing gets abandoned mid-edit.

Delete guard

Removing an element still used by a route is refused, and the refusal names the routes to fix. Applied across nine object types.

beta

Marked as beta, and we mean it.

The canvas is fully functional and safe on live routes. A pill and a warning strip on every flow state plainly that some results — very large flow render time, edge cases in the analyser — are still being refined.

06Where it fits

One piece of the VoiceCloud portal.

Call Flow Builder is the flagship beta right now, but it's not the only thing the portal does. Numbers, users, tiers, billing, porting and analytics all live in the same place.
