August 1, 2023, marked a significant day in the annals of the UK’s internet services industry as the Internet Services Provider’s Association (ISPA UK) announced the finalists for its prestigious ISPA Awards, celebrating its silver jubilee edition. In a strong field of competitors, Giant Communications is among the select few shortlisted for the coveted “Best VoIP Award”.
With an impressive array of 40 organisations vying across thirteen different categories, the ISPA Awards, in its 25th year, continues to illuminate the exemplary diversity and innovation that characterise the sector. This year, the Best ISP (250,000+ customers) category witnessed a noteworthy shift as an alternative network provider has managed to contest alongside long-established household name providers.
2023 is turning out to be a transformative year for the industry as fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) deployment crossed the halfway mark and 75% of the market became gigabit capable. While market consolidation increases, the focus has gradually shifted towards the uptake and delivery of gigabit services. Recognising the evolving market priorities, the ISPA introduced new categories, including Best Customer Protection, Best Customer Experience, and Best Integrated Communications Campaign, all of which underscore the critical sector priorities.
In the “Best VoIP Award” category, Giant Communications is facing stiff competition from formidable peers, including Community Fibre, Dial 9 Communications, Voipfone, Voxbit, and WebMate. This nomination stands as a testament to Giant Communication’s commitment to quality service and innovative VoIP solutions.
The winners will be declared on November 9 at the historic Old War Offices on Whitehall, which is now the OWO Raffles hotel. As the ISPA Awards turn 25 this year, the event promises to bring together professionals from across the industry to commemorate the sector’s significant accomplishments in 2023.
Expressing his thoughts on the announcement, Steve Leighton, ISPA Chair, conveyed the pivotal role the awards play in showcasing the remarkable efforts of organisations throughout the sector. Amid challenging economic conditions, the industry has shown resolute dedication to augmenting the nation’s FTTP coverage and delivering enhanced services to citizens and businesses, he said.
