New network-level content filtering is included free with every Giant Broadband plan and works across every connected device — no downloads or per-device setup required.
Giant Broadband today announced the launch of Guardian, a new built-in content-filtering feature that protects every device on a customer’s home network at no extra cost. Guardian gives Giant customers a single, simple switch to block malicious websites — and optionally adult content — across every phone, laptop, smart TV, games console and IoT device on their Wi-Fi.
Unlike traditional filtering approaches that require software on each device or complex router configuration, Guardian works entirely at the network level. That means it protects every device the moment it connects to the customer’s home Wi-Fi — including guest devices, smart-home gadgets, and hardware that can’t have security software installed.
Customers can switch Guardian on directly from the Giant portal, choosing between three simple levels:
- Guardian Off — Standard internet with nothing blocked, for customers who already run their own filtering.
- Guardian Standard — Automatically blocks websites known to spread malware, phishing scams and credential theft. Recommended for every household.
- Guardian Family — Everything Standard blocks, plus adult content. Designed for households with children.
Changes take effect in seconds and can be reversed at any time.
“We wanted online safety at Giant to be genuinely easy — no downloads, no per-device setup, no confusing settings pages,” said Callum Longworth. “Guardian is one tap in your account and it protects everything. It’s the kind of thing we wish every broadband provider had built in as standard, so we did it.”
Guardian is included at no additional cost with every Giant Broadband plan and is available immediately to all existing and new customers. There are no data caps, no throttling, and no impact on connection speed.
Existing Giant customers can activate Guardian by logging into their account at portal.giant.net.uk, opening their broadband service, and tapping the new Guardian tile.
